Shipyard floating dry dock crane is a kind of machinery used for hoisting and transporting in ship construction equipment or repair, which belongs to ship assembly equipment. It consists of three parts: metal structure, working mechanism and electrical system. Metal structure includes tower body, boom and base. The working mechanism has four parts: lifting, amplitude changing, turning and walking. Electrical systems include motors, controllers, distribution cabinets, connection lines, signals and lighting devices.
Shipyard was invented by Zhang Ping of Song Dynasty. According to historical records, Zhang Ping was born in A.D. 925 in Yangshan, Linqu, and successively served as Marquis Yu and supervisor of mabudu in the Northern Song Dynasty

In 987 ad, he died of illness and went back to his place of origin for royal burial. "In the west of the village, the tomb was built, and the stone man, Shi Yang, was very prominent.". In 977 A.D., Zhang Ping was appointed as a sacrificial official and supervisor of the shipyard in the capital of Yangping. He lives in Yangping Town, east of Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. At that time, shipbuilding by the Weihe River was easy to be washed away by water, so we had to send one ship and three households to guard it. We recruited thousands of migrant workers a year, who were working hard and hurting their money. Zhang Ping then ordered the migrant workers to dig a large pit on the bank, in which they built ships. After the ship was built, they dug a hole, diverted water into the pit, floated the ship, and sailed into the river. The big pit is called "dock".
Dockyard type
There are two kinds of docks: dry dock and floating dock.
Dry dock
The three sides of dry dock are connected with land and water, and its basic components are dock mouth, dock chamber and dock head. The dock entrance is used for entering and leaving the ship, and is equipped with a water retaining dock door.

The drainage and irrigation equipment of the dock is often built in the dock piers on both sides of the dock mouth; the dock room is used to place the ship, and the bottom plate of the dock room is provided with keel piers and side piers supporting the ship; the dock head is the opposite end of the dock mouth, and its plane shape can be rectangular, semicircle and diamond, and the space of the dock head is a part of the dock room, where the propeller and tail shaft are disassembled. The dry dock is equipped with various power pipelines and auxiliary equipment such as lifting, derusting, painting and towing. When the ship enters the dry dock for repair, first fill the dock with water with the filling and discharging facilities. When the water level inside and outside the dock is at the same level, open the dock door, use the traction equipment to slowly pull the ship into the dock, and then dry the water in the dock, so that the ship is located on the keel pier. When the completed or completed ship is out of dock, first fill the dock with water until the water level inside and outside the dock gate is even, open the dock gate and lead the ship out of dock.
Floating dock
It is a kind of concave cabin that can move and float. It can not only be used for repairing and building ships, but also for salvaging sunken ships and transporting deep-water ships through shallow water channels. China built the first 25000 ton floating dock of Huangshan in 1974. The dock is 190 meters long, 15.8 meters high and 38.5 meters wide, with a maximum depth of 13.2 meters and 13000 tons of lifting capacity. It can lift 25000-30000 tons of seagoing vessels for dock repair. The floating dock has a high degree of automation and electrification. The floating and sinking of the dock are controlled by the central command desk. The dock is equipped with a power station (power generation capacity can be used for urban lighting of 100000 people), as well as workshops for machinists, electricians, carpenters, etc.
